Superglue is an adhesive which is made to last, that's mainly the reason behind it's name. Now, you might think that superglue is difficult to remove but worry not, like most stains and spills, it too has an easy removal method. The best known remover for superglue is acetone. Now you may have heard that nail-polish remover acts like a remover for superglue as well. This however isn't the case, because the amount of acetone in the nail polish remover isn't sufficient to completely remove all traces of superglue. Pure acetone, on the other hand, is the perfect tool for the removal process. Below are a few methods you can use to remove the glue completely.

You'll require:

-Pure acetone
-Paper towels
-Plastic wrap
-Tape
-Soft cloths
-A spoon or a putty knife
-A single edge razor (optional)

Note: Because acetone can remove finishes, it is important to test it first to ensure there are no damaging effects to the surface.

Begin by cleaning the area as normal and drying it thoroughly. Now apply the acetone to the glue and allow it to sit. The trick is to keep the acetone ...
... from evaporating before the glue has a chance to soften. To prevent this, moisten a piece of a paper towel (it just needs to be large enough to cover the glue) so it is very wet with acetone. Lay it on top of the glue and cover with a piece of plastic. Tape the plastic down around the edges so it is air-tight. Allow the acetone to sit on the glue for several hours to overnight, afterwards, remove the plastic wrap and the acetone soaked paper towel.Gently scrape away the glue with a utensil or a putty knife. If it is soft enough it may be possible to wipe or blot it up with a soft cloth. A razor can be used as well, but be sure to use great caution not to damage the surface of the tile. Repeat the process as necessary until all of the glue is removed. Lastly, clean the area as normal to remove any traces of acetone and allow it to dry completely.

Tips:

-There are commercial super glue removers available at your local hardware store that are designed to remove dried super glue. The active ingredient in these removers is acetone.

-Take care while executing the removal process, as you don't want to damage the tiles in any way. If you have damaged your tiles, though and are in need of tiling services or repairs, be sure to call your London builders to your aid!

-When removing the softened glue, it is important to work quickly. Once the acetone evaporates, the glue will begin to harden again.
