Peru Holidays – Peru Travel And Peru Tours
Booking a vacation is very exciting. It’s a chance to get away from the trials of everyday life and rejuvenate your spirit. Some vacations may be quiet and relaxing. But for the more adventurous type, you may want to consider one of the fabulous Peru tours of Machu Picchu and the surrounding areas.
Peru holidays are becoming more popular. This gives us the advantage of lower prices but comes with the burden of fighting through masses of other tourists. Some of the more popular areas, like Machu Picchu, can see upwards of 400,000 tourists per year. Not only does that make it more crowded, but it could also break down the structures over time.
Peru travel doesn’t have to be this way. You don’t have to deal with hoards of tourists to have an adventurous holiday in Peru. You can look into some of the tour groups that take physically fit and healthy people on tours off the beaten path. These tours require physical endurance and strength, but are rewarded with views that the timid cannot see.
White water rafting is a common activity for people on Peru holidays. There are many levels to this activity ...
... that can accommodate most vacationers. There are mild rapids and shorter trips, and there are some river tours that take days. These trips usually have much stronger rapids and take quite a bit more physical endurance.
If the water isn’t really your thing, don’t worry. There are plenty of other options. There are Peru tours that also offer biking down mountains. Usually these trips take a couple of days and require camping at night. The upside is these biking trails usually pass through local villages with low rivers and hot springs.
Of course there are always trekking Peru tours. These are for the people that want to get a close up look at everything Peru has to offer. Trekking through the jungle or up and down mountains give you a firsthand look at the hidden beauties of Peru. It does, however, require stronger physical endurance.
So what are some of the necessities you need to take with you during your Peru travels? Since you will be outside the majority of the time, sunscreen is a must. It’s no fun spending your entire vacation in pain from sunburn. You will also need lots and lots of water. Especially with the higher altitudes, dehydration is very common.
Trekking through the jungle begs for insect repellant. There are many natural repellants available if you are concerned about chemical exposure. Proper footwear is also a necessity on Peru holidays. Lightweight, waterproof hiking boots and several pair of dry, comfortable socks will reduce your risk for painful blisters. A sense of adventure will complete your list.
River Explorers is a privately owned Peruvian travel company that has been in business since 2001. They offer travel packages that include white water rafting, trekking, and biking. The guides are all locals that have been providing tours for years.
