Goa is a hot tourist destination which also happens to be one of the most frequented states in the world. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind for both families and honeymooners. Though it has been dubbed as ‘India’s beach capital’, the state is equally famous for its churches and could well have been called ‘India’s church capital’! Under Goa packages, one can plan a visit to all the famous churches in the state.

Here is a look at the best churches which Goa has to offer:

i. Basilica of Bom Jesus: It is, undoubtedly, the most famous church in the state and should definitely be visited. It is a site that will take you back to the medieval times and tug at the nostalgic side of your heart. Its architecture is another great thing to notice! Since, the place is the burial ground of St. Francis Xavier, hence people from far and wide come here and pay their homage.

ii. Se Cathedral: Se Cathedral is equally popular and another pious religious site. It is counted amongst the top spiritual places to visit in Goa. It has a certain gothic charm and is one of the oldest churches ...
... in the country. Its biggest USP is its giant size which makes it a domineering monument in its neighborhood. It has over a dozen altars and that, in itself, is a reason why you must visit this church.

iii. Church of Lady of the Rosary: It is not as popular as the Se Cathedral or the Basilica of Bom Jesus, but it is certainly a must-visit. It is much more quiet and traditional in its look, and can bring back warm memories of the past. Some Goa packages do include this church in the schedule. There is a lot of artwork on display at this place. So, tourists who have a fetish for local art or in traditional history must definitely step onto its premise.

iv. Chapel of St. Cajetan: This church is around 400 years old and has been influenced heavily by the Portugal culture. Since, Goa was once the hub of Portugal conies, this chapel can evoke reminiscences from the past.
