Since its launch in 2005 the Zafira has been very popular and a favorite in the UK. Though it may not be the flashiest when you look it to it then it becomes clear exactly why it is so popular. This model is great as a family car and seems to accommodate any needs that arise for a family. It’s a realistic, handy and convenient vehicle that has more than enough room and great practicalities. All the models have seven seats and all of them can be folded which as you can imagine means maximum space can be made available, more space than most people would even need. The diesel engine available is a 1.7 CDTi litre which is the best choice and it comes with a choice of two outputs. Both of these engines are every powerful and offer a great drive with all the smoothness and control. The lower version produces 108 bhp and the other one gives 123. Both can go from o-62mph in a reasonable 12.3 seconds.

The interior is solid and well built with the roofs panoramic glass brightening up the car but it does seem more van like and the A pillars are quite big making them a bit to big leading to blind spots. There is a range of three models, the exclusive, Excite and Design and the entry level cars still come with some good privileges. There are front electric windows and audio controls on the steering wheel, tinted glass and heated windows. The level excite adds 16 inch alloy wheels, fog lights which is very useful and Bluetooth making it seem more up to date and stylish. The last model also comes with climate control.

The Zafira is good to drive as it is set around the Astra although it is not as exciting as some of the other models such as the Ford Grand C Max and the latest Zafira Tourer. The vehicle offers a comfortable ride and there is very little noise that comes into the car whether you are on the motorway or on the normal roads. The cabin has your comfort well ensured. The road grip of the car is great and the brake also feels very good adding to the driver’s confidence. Steering wheel’s design and a very accurate gearbox makes the overall driving experience fun. The Zafira under-steers on running out the grip, however until then it drives very smooth. The braking of the car is just what a vehicle should have when there are six passengers on board and the distance it covers when the brakes are applied is also very reasonable. To conclude it can be rightly said that the Zafira gives one of the best handling and driving experience in its class.
