A battery needs a set of battery accessories. Most commonly used battery accessories are terminals, cables and clips. Wires are connected to the battery through the terminal connectors that may be stop end type or clamp type or press fit type, depending on the type of terminals provided on the battery in use. Cables are important since they must have an adequate cross section of copper to take care of the peak current as well as the normal current with insulation that will not degrade or crack over time.

Clamps and cables apart, you would also like to have a cable pair with clips at each end. This type of battery accessory comes in handy when you want to charge your battery from an external charger or when you want to jump start a car or to tap the battery’s power or to test the battery with a battery tester.

The battery charger is a useful accessory to have. If your car battery is old and it has gone flat after lying unused for some time you can recharge it. Battery chargers are available in SMPS type where no transformers are used, or the traditional transformer type with additional circuitry to control charging ...
... voltage and current. In each type there is additional sophistication by way of automatic trickle charging or power cut off when the battery is fully charged. Service centers usually have powerful battery chargers that can charge a bank of batteries simultaneously. For individuals, the SMPS battery charger with automatic features is a better option as a battery accessory.

If you like to go out camping, you may store a small or medium sized inverter in the boot of your car. Inverters are useful battery accessories to power lights and electronic devices. Normally, for outdoor use a 250VA inverter should be sufficient whereas in a camper or a trailer home you can see people using a 2KVA inverter. Again, inverters can be quasi-sine wave types (cheaper) or full sine wave types. For general purposes the quasi-sine wave type will work well. Advanced inverters have features such as low voltage detection, overload protection and short circuit protection.

The best source for these battery accessories as well as other useful items like hydrometer, gloves, battery cases, cables and tools is your reliable online battery dealere. The website lists accessories and you can usually order online to have the accessories shipped right to your doorstep.
