When someone dedicates their life to God and the church, their attire reminds them of this vow. Many people depend on the spiritual guidance of their clergy men. They look up to them for guidance and support especially when they need to understand life and change their perception concerning life. It would be disastrous if one was not able to identify their clergy men especially if they were not wearing clergy shirts.

Deacons usually tie their stoles on the right side of their bodies to signify their service to the church and society at large.

In most cases, this attire is also worn during the Holy Communion thus displaying the authority that the clergy has to represent the people in the presence of their Creator and ask for mercy and forgiveness of their sins.
