Shoghi is famous among the tourists for its picturesque surroundings. Shoghi is nestled in the quaint, lush green, hills of Himachal Pradesh, just 13 kilometers away from Shimla. Many tourists who visit Shoghi prefer to stay in the Housing Colony which is far from the maddening ...
... crowd. The colony was set up in the cozy village of Shoghi in early 2001 by HIMUDA for meeting the housing needs of the people here. This housing colony is situated on a hill overlooking the valleys.Shoghi is not crowded and so can be easily reached, without running into traffic jams which is a characteristic of Shimla. Aamod Shoghi is one hotels which can try.
As years passed by, the charm of the hill-station is losing due to not so well-maintained roads leading to it. It has now become very difficult to cover the distance from down the hill to the town of Shoghi.
Pollution is yet another problem that has greatly devastated the charming hills of Shoghi. The greenery of the valley is now greatly covered with rubbish mainly dumped by the visitors of Shoghi. Disrespect towards nature by its visitors and the inefficiency of the authorities in preventing the littering to a great extent has paved way for the present condition of Shoghi. The housing board society is now making attempts to clean up the surroundings.
One who visits Shoghi now is distressed to see the condition of this once beautiful place. The road signals and signs, the location of the blocks, are all so poorly maintained that a second thought to visit this place is mandatory. Security is also an issue.
Trekking and camping are the main activities that can be enjoyed by the tourists who visit Shoghi. Shoghi is also a tranquil and secluded tourist destination for those who are in search of it.
