Board Up Washington, District Of Columbia
The nation with its turbulent economy and rising unemployment rate is in the midst of one of the largest foreclosure crisis' in recent times. The Washington DC area is certainly no exception. Although they had managed to remain untouched by the rise in foreclosures in the past, they now have of the fastest growing foreclosure rates in the entire country.
The impacts of foreclosure activity are widespread throughout the entire are of Washington, D.C. and many local counties and cities are experiencing a loss in property tax revenue and a sharp increase in costs associated with foreclosures. Neighborhoods suffer as foreclosed properties often attract vandalism, crime and unhealthful conditions. A boarded up home can certainly attract much unwanted attention and they are now being seen in affluent neighborhoods.
Homeowners watch as their home values fall and those who need to sell often have to discount their properties substantially just to break even or take the smallest loss possible. Potential homebuyers also feel the pinch because of tighter credit limits which often makes getting a home loan difficult if not ...
... impossible.
The foreclosure problem in the Washington DC area, like so many other metropolitan areas across the country, has been driven by sub prime mortgages and speculative activity, both of which broadened the homebuyer base and led to a sharp increase in the cost of buying a home
Even in the inner suburbs, Prince George's County has also experienced a rise in the number of foreclosures. In the Core, which includes the District of Columbia, Arlington County and the city of Alexandria, there have been a more modest number of foreclosures to date, but they still exist. While the foreclosure rate has been primarily focused on areas in Prince William County several other neighborhoods across the region
are doomed to find themselves on the radar for foreclosures.
If you fear that your house is in jeopardy of foreclosure it is important to contact your bank immediately to try to protect your investment. The use of a board up company will prevent vandalism, rodents and damage from other small animals from occurring. It is likely that your bank will recommend a local company to use to protect your investment.
Board up companies will seal your house with wood and other materials so that damage from nature, animals and other elements is kept at a minimum. While this will help keep your home safe it will likely not impress your neighbors. A Boarded up home will likely drive down property value and be seen as an unsure in an unstable neighborhood.
