What To Prepare For On A Safari Holiday

For those adventurous types who love to explore, one of the best things you can experience in life is a safari. Safaris in Africa give you the chance to get up close and personal with African wildlife, some of which you'll know about, like zebras and lions, and some of which you won't have even heard of!
One of the main things to think about if you're planning to go on a safari holiday is what you're going to pack. A safari is an amazing experience, but your experience will be significantly affected if you do not come prepared. You should prepare for scorchingly hot days and chilly evenings, making sure you wear long trousers and sleeve as protection from mosquitoes in the evening and early morning. Bring good quality walking boots if you are planning a walking safari, and don't forget your camera and binoculars! It's a nice gesture to bring gifts for the children and staff there such as pens, pencils and notebooks, but do not give sweets, as many children cannot afford dental care.
Another important thing to consider is when you plan your safari for. If you want to watch a herd migrate, you'll need to find out ...
... what time of year this happens. You might also want to research the changes in weather in the wet season and the dry season. If you are planning on seeing something, try not to get your hopes up too much, because the wildlife is very unpredictable. Instead of making a check-list of specific animals you want to see, try to appreciate the beauty of all the animals you see. It may not be what you're looking for, but you're still extremely lucky to see it.
There are different kinds of safaris available to different kinds of people. If you are interested in the wildlife but would like to be able to relax in comfort at the end of the day, you can look into luxury safari holidays. These usually involve staying in lodges which are located around the trail, and most will have a pool which you can enjoy in your free time. However, if you'd rather stay close to the wildlife and enjoy the experience at night as well as in the day, some safaris involve sleeping in tents, where you'll be able to sleep and wake with the animals and experience what it's like to sleep among the wilderness.
Safaris are available in many different locations in Africa, so it's a good idea to research these locations before you plan where you're going. But remember, whether it's a Botswana safari and a Tanzania safari, or two safaris in Kenya at the same time, no two experiences will be the same. If you're interested in going on a safari, search for Botswana safaris, Kenya safaris, or even just safaris in general, and see what takes your fancy.
