Upgraded Security At Hotels!
The terror strikes that took place on 26 November shook India and the world. It brought back the memories of the previous strikes. Time and again, we have faced a similar situation. However, this time the situation was different. The targets were the elite hotels of Mumbai - The Oberoi Trident at Nariman Point and Taj Mahal Palace and Tower near the Gateway of India. Conference meetings, important events, social gatherings - all take place in the hotels. The hotels are also visited by umpteen foreign tourists.
A previously unknown group calling itself Deccan Mujahedin claimed responsibility for the act. Mumbai and other Indian cities have suffered a spate of terrorist attacks in recent years. Most of which the Indian government has blamed on Muslim extremists. The earlier terror attacks mostly involved bombs left in public spaces such as markets and parks, causing indiscriminate casualties. However, this time the attacks were a brazen, frontal assault which involved automatic weapons. The targets included police headquarters in south Mumbai, where some officers were pinned down by gunfire.

The entry of visitors to the lobby, parking spaces have been made stricter. The way people viewed such upscale accommodations have changed entirely. In the recent past, a number of luxury hotels have been targeted by similar attacks. Hence, the hoteliers are not leaving no stone unturned and giving high priority to the safety of visitors.
Tourists visiting Udaipur or Kanyakumari can now be rest assured of the safety. Now, guests have to pass through a metal detector and their baggage is subject to search each time they enter. Besides, this there are numerous safety practices incorporated in the wake of the attacks. The hotels in these places are leaving no stone unturned to safeguard the security of visitors. Now, hotels have made it mandatory for visitors to furnish photo identification card or a government issued photo ID, passport, and driver's license while registering at the hotel. It is expected that these measures will enable tackle the security issues and provide a secure environment to visitors. Besides, the hotel staff is being trained to face such situations. The government is following all the measures to beef up security. There is no any accommodation problem in Kanyakumari, as the hotels provide good services to guests. There are numerous standard hotels offering varied accommodation options.
