How To Get Admission In Top Engineering Colleges In India
The top engineering colleges in India have a lot of scope for thousands of candidates who want to make a career in this field. These days there are a variety of subjects, which you can opt to study and make your career. After completing your studies, you can either opt to study further or take up a job. The growth of IT companies and large scale enterprises in the country have opened up new avenues for engineers. Most of the students who aspire to become engineers, start preparing for the entrance exams right from the time they are in junior college.
There are some top ranking institutes in the country like IIT for which lakhs of students all over the country compete to get admission. The chances of students through this exam are only five percent. The reason for this is that about more than 12 lakh students appear for competitive exams held at national levels like IIT-JEE and AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination). As the chances of getting a very high score in these exams is very slim, the students try to get a score in the common entrance test held at the state level. The individual states have their own common entrance test and the scores. The students are assigned a college according to their score in this test. Most of the colleges have a cut-off score and the students are recommended colleges according to their score. They have to opt a college and a subject accordingly and this is when many students face a dilemma.
If the college of your choice does not have vacant seats for the subjects you prefer, you can still choose that college. The main reason for this is that after the first semester there are chances you may get a seat in the subject of your choice. You should check the various things in the college you would like to get a seat for admission. Some of them include the reputation of the college, the placement record and the experience and qualification of the faculty members and if the college is recognized by an authorized body.
The engineering degree in India is one of the coveted degrees and the students have to face a lot of competition to get admission in a good college. They tend to neglect their Class XII studies and prepare for these exams right from Class XI. This might be disastrous for some and can lead you to lose chances of getting admission in a Top engineering college in India. After getting admission, you would have to work hard to score well and get good marks.
