My recent trip to Pune led me to some of the best eating joints of recent times. Be it typical Maharashtrian food or one of the best street foods in India or the variety of Sea food available, all of these brought a delectable taste. While spending so much money on travel and eating, I had to cut down on my budget of staying in a hotel. Yet I did not want to compromise on the luxury and benefits of a full-fledged hotel.

Then one of my friends, who own’s a Guest house in Gurgaon, told me about serviced apartments. These service apartments are as close to being your home and as luxurious as any hotel. While passing by upmarket colonies like Sunder Nagar, Defence colony, Greater Kailash, etc …I often used to spot well maintained and perfectly located serviced apartments in Delhi. I Often thought who are the people who decide to reside here? But it never came to my mind that these are the best options to stay in a new city be it for a business tour or a leisure trip.

... Is the place located in overpopulated and a noisy area? Or is it a place of commercial use? You need to ensure that you choose a decent location, with less population, less noise and less commercial areas around…as these can really affect your trip and spoil your mood…

Secondly, do check on the prices and try and not overspend on accommodation. Saying that, you must check on the luxuries and benefits being provided to you in the price you are paying.

The serviced apartments in Delhi, that I chose, was perfectly located and was close to all the main entertainment places along with being comfortably linked to all the major parts of the city. I got an easy access to my favourite places through taxis. This helped me save a lot of money for leisure and I did not even have to compromise on my accommodation luxury.

Hotels are usually expensive and we don’t get to save money for other things…especially for a family, hotel rooms prove to be an expensive affair because of space constraints. Service apartments therefore provide a more economical way of residing in a place which is more homely and not expensive also.
