Over the years, when one might consider the most prolific fine dining destinations in the United States, many places come to mind - New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. all pop to the top of the list. In the past decade, Las Vegas should be considered a worthy addition to that list.

Over the years, when one might consider the most prolific fine dining destinations in the United States, many places come to mind - New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. all pop to the top of the list. In the past decade, Las Vegas should be considered a worthy addition to that list.

Las Vegas is considered by most to be one of the premiere hubs of tourism in the country, if not the world. At this time, Las Vegas gets nearly 40 million visitors a year. In fact nearly half of the entire workforce of Southern Nevada is dedicated to the tourism/hospitality industries. With that amount of international foot traffic, it was only a matter of time that Las Vegas allowed some of its signature glitz to rub off on its food scene.

Clearly, Las Vegas has gone through many iterations over the years. It’s been ...
... considered extremely glamorous to extremely tacky, but most presently it seems to have found a happy medium as a luxury destination that doesn’t take itself too seriously and appeals to a wide-range of potential visitors. Similarly, the dining experience in Las Vegas is no longer just “all-you-can-eat” buffets. It is now one of the premiere foodie destinations, particularly as there is an extremely high concentration of fabulous dining options, all in close proximity, and very accessible. World-famous chefs, from Wolfgang Puck to Mario Batali, Tom Colicchio to Bobby Flay all chose Las Vegas as the location for some of their newest and best restaurants.

Las Vegas currently has over 2,000 restaurants to choose from, and amazingly around 400 of them are considered fine dining restaurants—that’s nearly a quarter of its total restaurants! That being said, fine dining is not just for the highest rollers on the strip. There are plenty of phenomenal restaurants run by inventive chefs that are right up the palate and price range for many people—whether they’re searching for USDA Prime steak, premium seafood, award-winning wine lists or inventive cocktails

If you’re feeling adventurous, you could try small plates “e” by famed molecular-gastro mist Jose Andres or Peruvian-influenced sushi at "Sushi Restaurant" by world-renowned sushi chef Nobu Matsuhisa. If you want something a bit more tried and true, you can’t go wrong with a fabulous dry-aged steak at "Steak Restaurant" right in the heart of the Strip, or a delicious piece of fish at “Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House”, right around the corner. The fine dining options are one arena in Las Vegas where you don’t have to gamble. They are all a win. Perhaps the best option yet is to stay in Vegas long enough to try them all!
