In case of a natural disaster such as a hurricane or earthquake, a board up company may be able to help you reduce the damage your house may endure. There are several board up companies in the Fresno, California area that can help if bad weather is predicted. Board up companies also may be hired by banks to help keep a foreclosed house safe, maintained and secure.

Fresno has been no exception to the economic crisis that the nation is facing and many have lost their homes to foreclosure already and many more fear they will share the same fate. The foreclosure crisis has left literally thousands of homes throughout the Central Valley in ruins and some realtors are running into trouble when they try to sell foreclosed homes. Graffiti and garbage aren't the only things realtors now find when they enter foreclosed homes. Some realtors have come face to face with vandals and squatters and have even begun to apply for gun permits to protect themselves.

Foreclosures have left once middle income neighborhoods scattered with blight and boarded up windows. The foreclosure rate which once used to hit low income neighborhoods ...
... the hardest and only hit middle income America sporadically now even extents its reach to the most affluent neighborhoods in the city.

To keep houses safe and more pleasing to the eye, one company in Fresno has been installing metal covers over windows instead of the plywood. They have also been working on a decal that will make the metal doors and windows more aesthetically pleasing. The metal doors although not extremely popular in the Fresno area just yet look better than plywood, and they prevent the massive messes that are often left behind by the people who break-in. Most neighbors also agree that the steel covers are a good alternative and will help keep them.

Authorities also say another main component to keeping communities safe is for residents to report suspicious activity happening at foreclosed homes in their area. This may help, but ultimately until the houses are once again occupied, extreme security may become an even more popular option.

Some board up companies do offer extreme security as well as other extended services to help keep the investment safe and the neighborhood free from vandalism, blight and raves. An empty house is often an open invitation for all of those things. It is worth asking the company you choose if they offer security.
