Know More About Composite Laminate

Many times we heard about different products and we strive to find more about them. Fortunately today we have internet which allows us to gain our knowledge as much we can. One of my friends is an interior decor expert and I got a chance to meet her when I visited Bangalore last week. As she keeps busy even in the night, I heard one term several times – composite laminate. Although I know what laminate is but I was eager to know this type. So, I took the risk of asking her. She told me each and everything about this exciting flooring option.
Composite laminate are very much similar to typical laminate but are composed of different layers of fibrous composite materials. The best thing about this laminate is its stiffness, strength, and coefficient of thermal expansion. The individual layers consist of high-modulus, high-strength fibers in a polymeric, metallic, or ceramic matrix material. Typical fibers used include graphite, glass, boron, and silicon carbide, and some matrix materials are epoxies, polyimides, aluminum, titanium, and alumina.
For following reasons, composite laminate is high in demand:
Superb ...
... strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios
Excellent fatigue properties
Customizability of stiffness and/or strength so that the final structure meets the design requirements most efficiently
Corrosion resistance that is much better than aluminum alloys and other metals
The major properties of a composite laminate are high loading capacity and low weight. This is what is required for a perfect flooring surface. Besides flooring, composite laminate is also used for the production of wings for aircrafts, cross-country skis and many other applications. These laminates come in various designs and colors so it becomes much easier for a household or office owner to choose the most striking laminate matching with the other decor elements on the room.
On the other hand, metal is a strong element but there are several issues with it such as heavy weight, prone to rusting, scratches etc. This sets a perfect platform for laminate flooring which is a much better option for interior decorators. With many homeowners are knowing about various home decor options, interior decorators need to be proactive by suggesting them with the most perfect option.
Over the past few years, there has been a huge shift in the perception of people towards various elements. Home decor is one such thing that opens up new avenues for enthusiastic professionals. Whether it is store fixtures or flooring, home decor is an essential thing for every corner of your home.
