Different flavors of wines to be tasted in Australia
Wines are mainly categorized into two types i.e., Red Wine and White Wine. Other than these, you may also relish the flavors of other imported wines in Australia. A huge array of flavors is available in these drinks, which are obviously quite popular among the drink lovers.
Red Wine- If you prefer red wine Australia, then six main flavors Carbernet Merlot, Shiraz Cabernet, Shiraz, Carbernet Sauvignon, Other red blend and Pinot Noir are accepted here. Carbernet Sauvignon is available in deep red and purple hues. Bouquet consists of dried herbs, cigar ...
... box, violets and mocha.
White Wine- The seven major flavors of white wines are Albarino, Sermillon, Riesling, Verdelho, White Blends, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Among them, Sauvignon Blanc tastes quite good and it appears pale straw and green in color. The bouquet is lemon grass, lime and passionfruit.
Imported Wine- Other than red and white wine, the collection of imported wines in Australian bars cannot be undermined. One can savor the imported wines from various countries such as France, Italy, Germany and Spain. When it comes to French wines, Burgundy, the Loire valley and Chablis are on the priority list. Wines from Spain have a huge array of flavors such as Bodegas Carchelo, Elefante Castila Blanco 2010, and Vela Albarino 2010.
How the wines are rated?
There are certain parameters through which you can easily get to know the quality of a wine. You need to follow the four aspects while judging the wine that is, sight, nose, palate and finish. While judging through sight, its color, viscosity, brilliance and depth are measured, while judging by a nose, the aroma, faults, variety and intensity are considered. When you need to judge the palate of wine, complexity, concentration, fruit and length are considered, whereas the finish is calculated on the basis of the balance, aftertaste, tannin and acid of wines.
Award winning wines in Australia are scored on the basis of these aspects. The score is allotted from a total of 100 and the wine which scores 95-100, is 5 star wine or gold medal wines. In the same way, scores between 90-95, 85-90, 80-85, 75-80, 70-75, 65-70 are rated as 4 +1/2 stars (silver medal), 4 stars (bronze medal), 3+1/2 stars, 3 stars, 2+1/2 stars, 2 stars, respectively.
