Today, reading has become a forgotten pastime. Not many people enjoy reading books these days because the internet and television have totally hogged all the attention. Watching television and browsing the internet has become very common these days and finding someone who likes to read for enjoyment more difficult. If one wants to inculcate the habit of reading in young people, a good idea would be to start with a fantasy book. A fantasy book is one which is written in the fantasy genre with a lot of importance given to fantasy and magic realism. There are lots of books which belong to the fantasy genre. The Millennium Trilogy is one of the most popular fantasy series in the world. Starting young adults with The Millennium Trilogy is a great idea as it will likely be able to instill a love of reading in them.

So why has reading become something of a forgotten activity in recent times? Here are the main reasons.

... and watch television than put an effort into reading. Now with so many T.V. channels available, it has become very normal for households to have more than one set.

ii) The internet is another culprit to the loss of interest in reading all over the world. The internet, with its news, websites, email accounts, Facebook and other social networking sites is an addictive place. Many people can spend days hooked to the internet without any problem. More and more people are discovering the power of the internet in keeping in touch with their friends and family. It is definitely easy to chat with people from all around the world sitting right at home. Social networking sites are another thing that has kept many people too busy to spend time reading a book.

iii) Work lives of people have become a lot busier than what it was previously. With corporate companies tightening their belts over their employees, people are finding it difficult to have any leisure time. And what little leisure time is got is usually spent doing chores or with friends and family.

All the above reasons point out the various reasons why reading has become a forgotten pastime,. However, if you want to, you can still enjoy reading time every day.
