Isb Interview Preparation Tips And Experiences
The Indian Business School (ISB) has been a major contributor towards delivering educational brilliance to the world through its ecosystem as both its faculties and candidates continue to garnish the corporate world with their pervasive knowledge and zeal.
Getting an admission in ISB is reasonably easy for potential candidates provided they have the right mix and vigor in them. An ideal ISB candidate should do well in two categories, namely, GMAT and his personal interview. Of course there is no denying that experience, wisdom and essays also contribute quite significantly. However a good score in GMAT is the first step, and the most important step, in the conquer. GMAT test is a multiple choice questions based test which focuses on testing the academic potential of a candidate, however, when it comes to ISB interview session, the scenario is much complex. ISB interviews are aimed for thoroughly checking in and out of a candidate’s potential, aspirations and strong willingness to make a mark in the field of management. This interview greatly focuses on checking merits of the candidates across a breadth of fields ...
... by asking a variety of questions in politics, corporate ethics and standards, social and economic developments, etc.
Many ISB interview questions are also based on aspects that are aimed to check the promptness of a candidate. There are some common interview questions such as “tell me something about yourself?”, ‘why us?’, “where do you see yourself five years from now?” etc. All these questions appear to be simple but they are the most complicated ones. One should always remember that they have come for an interview which upon qualifying will guarantee them a seat in ISB. Therefore, ensure that all answers remain in context with professionalism, integrity and absolute promptness. For an instance, if the interviewer asks you ‘tell me something about yourself?”. Do take the opportunity to speak about yourself but remain rigid to your academic qualification and interest in the corporate world only. It would be suicidal if you go on mentioning about your lifestyle, your friend circle or about your latest cell phone features. Also the answers have to be impeccably coherent as more the interviewers think that your answers and thoughts lacks clarity, judgment and reasoning the more bleak your chances become.
Try and get the most out of your ISB interview experience as there is so much to learn from these events. Interview is not necessarily about being a chatter box who only keeps to answering the questions of the interviewer. It is also important to be thoughtful about the interview session, be patient and give a sound listening to
The interview’s questions. Try and figure out the exact needs of the interviewer and what is he looking in you. This will allow you to be in a better position to answer his question(s) precisely.
All this said, it helps greatly to rely on experienced and seasoned consultants, who by themselves have graduated from ISB, to guide you through the thick and thin of the interview process. Skill is not a substitute for experience. Enhance your ISB interview experience through a constructive channel that provides a detailed analysis of your interview requirements at our destination.
