Most people realise the importance of having home good home and contents insurance. For the majority getting a policy to cover all of their valuables is not a problem. There are literally hundreds of insurance firms in the UK that offer good quality content insurance that is suitable for the average household.

However, if you are not an average homeowner you may have trouble finding appropriate insurance. Anyone who has high value items in their home may struggle to get the right level of insurance.

Conventional Insurance does not Always Offer Adequate Cover

The problem is the ceiling that many insurance companies put on their regular policies. Most conventional policies will not provide cover for contents valued over £75,000.

Their single item ceiling is also often surprisingly low. Some companies will not even provide adequate cover for a family who own a few expensive watches and pieces of jewellery. This is simply because the maximum they will pay out per item or per claim is below the value of the watches and jewellery.

In addition, some policies specifically do not cover certain kinds ...
... of items. This includes items like antiques, fine wines, works of art and certain types of jewellery. Fortunately, there are companies that do offer the right level of cover and offer a comprehensive insurance service for homeowners with high value items.

Types of High Value Contents Insurance

There are two main kinds of high-end contents insurance available. The first kind is very similar to a regular home contents policy in that all items in the home are covered. There is a ceiling on these policies, but it is usually more than adequate.

The other form of policy can be used by those who want to buy cover for specific items that they own. These policies allow homeowners to insure something like a valuable watch or piece of art. The fact that these policies are available for single items means that the cost of insuring even high value items is manageable for most people.

The majority of these policies are very comprehensive. They cover loss for virtually any reason including theft, fire and flood. However, it is still important to check the small print to make sure that the cover offered is sufficiently comprehensive.

If you are looking for comprehensive high value contents insurance policy at a competitive price, you will find it on the High Worth Insurance website.
