Stay Safe While Going To Mecca

Last year more than thousands of pilgrims arrived to Mecca to pay obeisance to Allah. Then there were millions of people from within the country of Saudi Arabia, who travelled for pilgrimage to Mecca to complete their duty of holy pilgrimage. The city gets overcrowded and most of the times a stampede occurs and a lot of people die due and many are injured.During this period, one must take all the necessary precautions to be safe and secure.

Here are some tips for all the pilgrims wanting to visit Mecca during the hajj period to keep themselves safe-

• Before you proceed for your travel confirm that you have all the travel documents ready with you, to avoid any last minute confusion. Every year the Saudi government introduces a list of travel vaccines when the pilgrims are granted a Hajj visa. The vaccines are for fever, polio, influenza and other nauseating diseases.

• You must have sufficient amount of clean water as and when you require. ...
... This may sound strange to you, but last year a number of pilgrims fell sick due to excessive travel and exertion. To avoid such symptoms you must ensure to have safe drinking water to avoid feeling weak or dizzy. Try to stay out of the sun as often as possible, and if the need persists then wear a headscarf or a hat to avoid the direct light.

• While travelling form the Jamarat Bridge area, one must be extra cautious as there have been many reported stampedes in the past. Now the facilities have been improved by the Saudi government considerably. There are more access ways and footbridges that have been erected for the convenience of the pilgrims. Keep yourself safe and always hold your children near to you or if possible carry them if they are small and never let them wander alone.

• Last but not the least; be careful during the Jamarat period. The stoning process of the Devil, as there is a high possibility of flying stones hitting you off guard. Opt for throwing the stone from the bridge area, this way you can stay safe from any stone hitting you. Don’t take any luggage with you, as this will make it even more difficult for you to leave or walk with the crowd comfortably.
