Waterstruck Bricks Are As Popular As Ever

Bricks have a long history, and waterstruck bricks are just one option available to builders, homeowners and businesses during the construction of a building. Throughout the history of bricklaying, one brick has been laid by a builder at one time. Bricks are usually produced in standardized sizes although different sizes can be made available depending upon specifications laid out by architects. There are generally two methods used to produce bricks in the modern age, which involve either moulding or extrusion. There is no difference in quality or resistance to weather between the two methods. There is an abundance of choice in terms of size, colour and texture, allowing architects to be completely creative when laying the foundations for new buildings. Waterstruck bricks are produced via the moulding process.
Timeless appeal
Waterstruck bricks appeal to many people as they have old-fashioned and timeless properties even when they are brand new. They are produced by using very soft clay which is then pressed into moulds using water and sodium silicate. The much-coveted ...
... texture of the bricks is made possible via trowelling. Some alternatives to waterstruck bricks include other moulded bricks such as the sand struck and handmade sanded bricks. Sand struck moulded bricks are identified by the sand effect that is to be found on their visible surfaces. They can be more irregular in size than other bricks, especially extruded bricks, which arguably makes them a more distinctive choice, adding extra character to a building. Meanwhile, the other common type of moulded brick in common use, the handmade sanded brick is crafted by hand. Each brick is crafted individually and then fired with coal, giving off a classic and timeless appeal once again. Each brick is unique, and like waterstruck bricks can help make buildings look extremely distinctive.
Extruded bricks
Extruded bricks are very different to bricks such as waterstruck bricks. These bricks are more regular and uniform-like in appearance, but nonetheless are of large appeal to many. They can be identified by the core holes that run through them. Many people believe that these holes are to the detriment of the brick itself but this is not the case – the holes benefit the brick and allow the clay to dry quicker. For many however, waterstruck bricks remain the brick of choice.
