How To Effectively Manage A Company
Managing an office is very different from managing your own academic career. If you are the manager of the company, you will have a myriad of responsibilities like preparing budgets, help resolving problems, allocating resources, evaluating the employees, and much more. 1. Maintain time schedule: It is your duty to maintain time schedule religiously. You can allow flexibility in it but only on special occasions. An ironically smiling look may put back the late comer to the normal time.
2. Have a regular feedback: It is very important to keep a track of the employees’ everyday work. With this you can analyse the performance of each that can be extremely beneficial for the time of appraisal and reporting to higher authority. It is important that office administrators be comfortable in communicating through various platforms, like email, skype, MSN, etc. As office manager, you should also be comfortable in communicating with clients and employees over phone.
5. Systemise repetitive tasks: If you find that you are doing the same task over and over again, you need to create the right system for it. For instance, if you are answering the same client query every now and then, you can resolve it by putting all the questions all the questions together in one place and creating an email template. The next time a client asks you the same question, you open the email template, type in the client’s email address in the ‘to’ field, and send. As an alternative solution, you can create a FAQ section in your website and direct client enquiries there.
6. Check the office supplies: Checking whether all the office supplies are available and in place is an important duty of the manager.
