Nowadays a lot of people prefer using laptop for various computing needs along with entertainment. You can carry a notebook almost everywhere and stay connected with colleagues and friends with ease. However, it is important to ensure that your laptop performs at optimum level and offer a lag free performance whenever you want. When you bring home a new laptop, it runs smoothly and offers you great multitasking experience. You can play songs when you browse web and anti- virus applications runs in background. However, over prolonged usage its speed seems to reduce.
A sluggish laptop can make you irritated and it also affects your productivity. Surely, you would not like the laptop to take forever to load certain apps or wait for long time till it shuts down! At times, malware invasion can be the cause behind a slow laptop. However, in majority of cases laptop memory upgrade can resolve the issue.
Before you buy additional RAM for your laptop, it is important that you understand why a laptop gets slow with time. When you buy a new laptop, very few apps are installed and hence the OS can make use of free memory without ...
... hassle. However, with time you need to install different types of apps including system security tools, office productivity apps, multimedia apps and many more. When you try running these apps together they consume a lot of system memory and as a result the OS gets left with bare minimum memory to manage operations.
Therefore, if you want to run many programs at same time and do not prefer to wait long, the only solution is upgrading your laptop memory. Usually, most of the laptops come fitted with 2 GB of RAM these days. For lag free performance you should upgrade this to 4 GB. If you are a gaming addict or need to run resource hungry software like Photoshop, consider upgrading to 6 GB RAM. However, it is also important to see if your laptop has empty memory slots and the amount of memory supported by it. If you have a 32 bit version of OS installed, it may be necessary to get a 64 bit version if you want to install more RAM.
Before you go for laptop memory upgrade, check the manual of your laptop thoroughly to find out information on compatible memory. Unless your laptop is a few years old, chances are there it will support DDR3 memory type. You may have to see the manufacturer website to find information on compatible memory modules and third party products. In case, the laptop is still under warranty, it would be good to contact the company to get additional memory installed. Otherwise, you can do it personally. There is no scarcity of video tutorials in web on laptop memory installation.
It is okay to buy memory module for laptop from online sellers. However, you should check whether the shop you have selected offers warranty and has suitable shipping policy before placing order online.
