A capable and simply smooth supermini this car performs well but is slightly bland in some areas. A regular type of car that has nothing wrong with it, C3 is one of the leaders in its range when it comes to spaciousness. The Saxo and others with the same design have less room than the C3. The C3 is a very significant and important car for Citroen and is one of the best selling superminis. Though other cars have talent this is the one that the market has taken a liking to. There is the 1.1 litre petrol engine which offers 59bhp and moving up to a maximum of 94bhp and then the 1.4 L which produces 118bhp. The cabin is also nice looking and spacious and the boot has a 300 litre capacity and plenty of knee room for the front passengers. The steering wheel has a part flattened look which is normally found in sportier cars and the seats are large enough to provide just about adequate comfort.

The C3 has been made to cater for any easy life, absorbing potholes well and driving settled and controlled on the motorway. The steering is not precise and gear change is vague. On the whole, the C3 is refined and doesn’t give road or wind noise on the motorway. The C3 is closely priced to the Volkswagen Polo. However, it has huge discounts available which give it a small advantage over its rivals. Although the engines are reasonably economical, the resale values are not good. The entry level Citroen C3 comes equipped with a CD player, air-con, cruise control and alloy wheels.
