When you’re on a tight budget, you better not think about a new sofa, a new LCD, or replacing the old air conditioner with a new one. But, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t roll up your sleeves for giving a facelift to your living room, which no longer excites you and your guests. The first thing you need to do is spend one or two hours in the room, and look for the areas, which need immediate treatment, and won’t cost you much. It’s better to have a notebook and pen in hand so you can write everything important down.
1. De-clutter
The best thing that you can ever do for your living room is de-clutter it. How about cutting down on the number of chairs in the room? How about peeling all those ages-old calendars/posters/photos from the walls, and replacing them with a few, new works of art?
2. Color
Color is a great tool to change the very looks of a room; beige is a nice option, but it’s your living room, so colors should be of your choice, right? Look online for inspiration for the best colors for living rooms.
3. Lighting
You may not have noticed it, but ...
... your guests must have, if your living room is not well-lit. Go to a few friends’, and you may find the difference.
4. Decorative Laminate Sheets
Decorative laminate is highly recommended by interior decor professionals. The reason is these laminate sheets easily stick on the surfaces, and they last for years; they’re pretty affordable as well. Since you’re on a budget, and don’t want to spend on new furniture, such as sofa and chairs, laminate sheets emerge as great surfacing solutions. You just need to decide on the colors and textures to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your living room decor.
5. Second Check
No matter how earnestly you redo room decor, there’ll always be things that’ll escape your attention. So, once you’re done with the makeover, give the room decor a second check. This second check will do two things for you: one, you’ll feel a great sense of achievement and happiness, and second, you’ll notice those minor things that escaped your attention, and need to be corrected now.
Last, but not the least, whatever you’re buying for your living room improvement – whether it is decorative laminate or paint for the walls – make sure you buy from the reliable paint and laminate suppliers in the market, so that you get the best results.
