Another temple near Mangalore is Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple dedicated to lord Gokarnanatheshwara, a form of lord Shiva. The magnificent temple with awesome features has some smaller temples surrounding the main temple.

Famous sites in Mangalore besides these temples are,
Panambur beach which is situated about 10 kms away from Mangalore. Panambur beach is a spectacular clean and safe beach on the shores of the Arabian Sea and is the site for the new Mangalore Port as well.
Madikeri, a fort was built of mud in the 17th century by Mudduraja houses an impressive palace inside. The fort faced many battles in 1790 and was taken control of by Doddavira Rajendra; finally Tipu Sultan rebuilt the fort in granite and named the site Jaffrabad. The fort houses masonry elephants at the entrance in addition to a beautiful church within its premises. A complete view of the city can be had from the walls of the fort.
Pilkula spread over an area of 370 acres is an eco educational park of tourist importance and interest.
