Vacation and holidaying does not always mean adventure and excitement. Sometimes, it means spending peaceful time with the family in a quiet haven that could just provide you that small peace of mind which so much goes missing in our day-to-day lives. The northern Thai land of Mae-Hong-Son is the appropriate place that demands a visit from you if you are looking for that silent peace for a few golden days. It is a small town, with an area that can be easily trekked on foot or just lolled down using a rented bicycle! Here are some of the important aspects that you need to be looking for when you plan a tour to Mae-Hong-Son.

Mae Hong-Son Attractions

There are a few selected places where tourists would appreciate whiling away their time. Some of the main Mae-Hong-Son attractions are the Wat Chong Kham, the Cave Lodge and the Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu. There are lots of natural sight-seeing here to be done, and all on foot! The natural scenic Mae Hong-Son attractions are the Mae Hong Son Lake and the Mae Hong Son Mountain Wat. The mountain ...
... is particularly quite a difficult climb. But once you are there, the view down-hill is absolutely stunning! The lighting at Lake Jong Kum during the nights is something that would take you off your foot! The Fish Cave is another superb place that deserves a must visit. Wherever you wish to go, just rely in your foot or else rent a bicycle or get hold of a motorbike. Another point of attraction here is the zoo. It houses some of the exotic species and would be a real excitement for the little ones to visit!

When to visit Mae Hong Son

The weather at Mae-Hong-Son is quite pleasant throughout the year. Temperatures rise most during the months of April and May. June onwards it again turns to be pleasant. Basically, the temperatures fluctuate between 20-30 degrees Celsius during these months. January faces low temperatures that can be ‘not so cozy' to warmth loving people. Given all these factors, you can decide well in advance when to visit Mae Hong Son.

Hotels in Mae Hong Son

Being quite a small place, you would find enough places that promise a comfortable stay for the nights at an affordable rate. Some of the frequently thronged hotels in Mae Hong Son are Gims Resort, Soppong River Inn, Johnnie House, Belle Villa Resort and the Phu Pai Art Resort. Almost all stay-in places provide an amazing view from their locations. You will not regret spending a time at any one of these places.
