Infrared photography can be divided to two: day and night infrared digital photography. Infrared is invisible light that is emitted by any object and that its intensity depends on the object's temperature. You might have seen some night infrared digital photos where you could actually see in the dark. The way these photos work is by capturing the infrared energy emitted by the objects in the scene and turning it into a picture. Darkness only means that visible light is not available or is available at very low levels.
