Rajasthan Tourism Guide
Rajasthan is a state in the northwestern region of India. The state is surrounded by the neighboring states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and countries such as Pakistan.

The Aravalli mountain ranges and the Thar Desert are the oldest in the world.
The capital city of Rajasthan is Jaipur, and the languages widely spoken in the city are Rajasthani and Hindi. The Rajput kings who built most of the palaces and forts in the state are Rana Pratap, Rana Kumbha, Rana Sanga and Bappa Rawal. Rajasthan is ranked as the largest state in terms of area in India.

Built in the year 1957, the Ranthambore National Park is home to many water bodies. The Sarsika National Park is also an important national park in the state. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is popular for its huge collection of birds. Most of the sanctuaries have the horseback rides. Other wildlife sanctuaries in the state are Sita-Mata and Jaisamand sanctuaries and the Kumbhalgarh sanctuaries. Tourists can also travel the length and breadth of Jaipur in a three-hour balloon ride.

The Jaipur International Airport receives flights from Muscat and Sharjah and from important Indian cities such as Ahmadabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. International tourists from North America, China, Middle East Asia and Europe can come to the Indira Gandhi International Airport located at Delhi.
The climate in Rajasthan is very hot and dry, hence cotton clothes should be worn and a good amount of water should be consumed. Women are advised not to wear revealing clothes to temples and other heritage sites.
