My 7 years old daughty was amazed with an invitation she received from her pal the other day. It was an invite for birthday. Since then she is after me to go with the same procedure for her big day too.

A few days back my cousin going to get married soon was all nervous about the choice of invitation she would make for her wedding. She wants it exclusive and memorable.

My sister in law has a habbit of collecting the various types of invitation cards they receive. She is quite a hobbyist to see through the creation in cards and collecting them.

Even after living in an iphonic age there are some traditions still continues to happen. Sending invites on paper is one among them. Although online cards are much saviors of time and money the authentic invitation card sending still is in fashion.

And you will still find people who believe in the fact that you can't say you are invited if you don't formally receive an invitation card for the event.

Going back through history in 14th century Britain when weddings or events were announced on town crier or the 16th century when the noble cards on metal ...
... plates graving were in tradition till the industrial revolution brought the distinctive inking on paper which kept the block of foundation for invitation cards we know of today.

Although now you get many a choices to make that ranges from letter press silk invitation in Sydney to the expensive thermograph engraving style of printing.

You also have less expensive choices as:

* Handmade

* DIY cards

* Contemporary

* Printed and pressed

The difference among all varies from the design, type of paper to printing style. The last two for sure makes most of the difference. For design whatever you have chosen the finish comes through the facts that whether they are made through simple printing on cotton or acrylic based paper or are drawn as letterpress cotton invitation in Fremantle.

There are almost 9 to 10 types of paper that varies in quality and from the origin of their make. Say

* The lettra American is cottony soft and luxurious but strong enough for a press.

* Somerset British is a pure cotton mould made paper.

* French Rives fine print making paper.

* Dutch oyster card pure paste board paper and more.

You get high quality, wide range of colors to choose from these papers. So next time you are planning for an invite ask the designer for the type of paper you could have best for it.
