Stay Motivated To Lose Weight

Excessive weight is a problem that many of us are plagued with today, due to our sedentary lifestyle. Obesity has been identified as one of the top illnesses afflicting modern society. It is best to eat right and exercise to keep your weight in check, but sometimes it becomes imperative that you seek help in the form of weight loss surgery, to stop the decline that obesity brings to your body.
When you carry more weight on your body, you actually start carrying excessive weight on your mind! You suffer breathlessness, restlessness, insomnia, headaches, backaches and all sorts of other physical discomforts; but most importantly you suffer from depression, a lack of self-confidence, unhappiness and angst, which are far worse issues to deal with. Yes, obesity is a problem which is easier to deal with in the body, rather than the mind. Let me explain.
When you are surrounded by your family or friends, you find yourself feeling more energetic when it comes to accomplishing physical tasks like walking down to the shopping arcade or going for a party; whereas when you are all alone, you don’t even feel like getting ...

It is because in the first scenario, you are in a happy frame of mind and therefore motivated to push your body towards making an effort; whereas in the second case, you have no-one but yourself for company and are unable to build any enthusiasm for physical movement. What this example means to show to you is the ‘power of motivation to make you lose weight’. When you are motivated enough, you will lose weight.
It is a step-by-step approach:
* Weigh the pros and cons of taking no action against obesity.
* Admit your life is going to get worse both health-wise and emotionally, if you remain obese.
* Recall or imagine all the happiness and pleasures in store for you when you lose all that weight.
* If you are unable to decide upon or cope with a weight-loss program, seek expert help.
* Read self-help books, research online, take medical advice and approach a qualified dietician.
* Set a time-frame for your weight-loss goals.
* Seriously consider weight-loss surgery (like I did), when the obesity reaches such proportions that it is useless to spend any more time and money on other weight-loss means.
My advice to you is based on my own personal experience of having suffered from obesity for years on end, until I took my doctor’s advice and chose to go for the surgical procedure LAP-BAND Beverly Hills. I was a diabetic and also had high blood pressure. I had brought my weight down to a great extent through diet and exercise, but I needed to lose more weight because I had developed some medical complications.
Remember to retain enthusiasm for your ultimate aim of curing obesity because nothing can be accomplished if you are not in the right frame of mind. A motivated person can move mountains. You only have to move your own body. It may seem a daunting task today. But remember the saying, ‘the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step’. Take that first step at least and soon you will reach that point in your life when the nightmare of obesity will be a thing of the past. Get your life back, stay motivated to lose weight!
