While opinions vary from one marketer to other on the pros and cons of business listings, being a web marketer myself and having worked for several clients over the years, personally I believe business directories carry a lot of value and it really doesn’t matter if you are belong to a B2C category or a hard core B2B segment such as construction companies.
The act of submitting your listings in business directories is definitely worthwhile provided it’s done the right way. Here’s why I feel it helps and why it should be considered as an important avenue for online marketing.

This brings us back to the same old debate – that of pitfalls of listing your business on business directories. When it comes to directories, there are various types of listing services some of which are highly reputed while others are low quality directories which incidentally are one of the reasons why business directories have lost credibility.
