Prepay For Internet, Then Relax And Enjoy!
If you’ve never before taken advantage of prepaid Internet, it’s time to find out what you’ve been missing. This approach can save you a significant amount of money over time, and can make logging onto the Internet when you’re on the road much easier.
Prepaid mobile broadband is becoming more popular all the time. When you pay ahead of time for mobile broadband, your carrier will give you a USB modem and a device that serves as a transportable hotspot. Thus, both your mobile phone and your laptop can access the Internet whenever you’d like. The advantages are many: no two-year contract, no having to worry about finding a hotspot, and no roaming charges. The flexibility of these plans is helpful as well. You can purchase
Mobile Broadband for a week, if you have a week-long vacation or business trip coming up, or you can sign up for a year or longer.
Then there’s the dial-up option. If you prepay for dial-up Internet time, you’ll be assigned a card with a special phone number. You’ll arrange for your modem to dial that number, ...
... and then, upon connecting, you’ll enter your personal access number, also printed on that card. At this point, though, you might be asking yourself, why would I buy prepaid dial-up services when I never use dial-up Internet in the first place? Well, dial-up Internet can make for a great secondary option for a household. It allows more family members to get online at any one time, and also provides a means of getting online during those times when, for whatever reason, your wireless Internet just isn’t working.
The main trick with prepaid dial-up and mobile Internet is to calculate how many minutes and how much data you think you will use during your allotted period of time. Then buy extra minutes and extra data in case you’re forced to use more for an unforeseen reason. While it’s possible with almost every pay-in-advance Internet plan to purchase more minutes and data as you go along, the cost for each new minute and megabyte is sure to be substantially higher than the prepaid price. Another important step before agreeing to any such plan from any company is to read online customer testimonials about that company’s consumer service quality and overall reliability. You should also check out that company’s coverage maps. In addition, be certain you have a modem which works with the Internet plan you want to purchase.
As a final note of caution, be aware that many mobile phone companies round up when charging for data. For example, if your company charges for data in increments of 5MB, yet you use only 1MB during your allotted time, on your bill it will still say that you used 5MB.
