How to smuggle alcohol on a cruise is still the most common question on that I come across from emails and forums most from the first time cruisers. Many individuals think that cruise ships are kind of floating hotels and they should be allowed to bring their alcohol on board. But they aren’t just the hotels, they are night bars as well, where you are not allowed to bring your alcohol on board.
While sneaking alcohol at certain places in the past time was partially accepted, but now the rules have been made stricter. Though some cruise lines allow you to carry one bottle per person for the trip, but that may not be true to all cruise lines. And even the technology has made it quite impossible to sneak alcohol on a cruise. Before you board on a ship, you and your luggage is passed through X ray checks that can detect the presence of any unwanted stuff from you. Though some people have tried to pack bottles in their luggage to escape secure checks but these bottles have some sort of metal in them that gets easily detected by the X ray machines.
So authorities would even check your water bottles. Some ...
... people usually empty down the water content and fill it with clear spirit of vodka. No doubt there are several online articles that will suggest you some ways of sneaking alcohol on a cruise, but none of them is really fool proof. In one way or the other you will be caught while checking in.
One alternative could be that you use something that is non detectable with the X ray machines, particularly something that doesn’t have any metal traces like a bladder of a plastic bag. Apart from that you can use containers with no definite shapes. Such things can make them hard to detect for the presence of any alcohol carrying container.
Most importantly you have to set your frame of mind. What will the worst if you are caught smuggling alcohol on a cruise. They will make you stand out of line in an embarrassing position and will seize your booze. Sometimes you may be fined as well and they will even drop you on port in the middle of your journey but that rarely happens, particularly when you are heavily drunk and get involve in a fist fight with the co passengers. Cruise liners are strict with their rules. If you are doing anything that is becoming a cause of trouble for their management or other co passengers, they will board you down with no refunds. Therefore you will be ruining up your journey.
