Death Valley is the largest National Park in North America. This park is undoubtedly the driest and hottest spot also having the least continental elevation. Yet it receives million of tourists through the year.

Death Valley National Park

Death Valley is by far the hottest and driest National Park in the United States. There are plentiful of trails within the park that takes hikers all the way through soft dunes, salt flats, natural bridges, coloured badlands and stunning canyons. Death Valley National Park is an outstanding geographic masterpiece on Earth. This 130 miles long valley is bordered by the Panamint Mountains on one side and the Funeral and Grapevine mountain ranges on the other side. At nights, Death Valley's mysterious animal populations of kit foxes, bobcats and rodents venture out. Animal life is wide-ranging and plentiful species of mammals, birds and reptiles exist in this desert environment. The most regulars are the ravens, roadrunners, coyotes, lizards and ground squirrels. On the sharp mountain slopes herds of desert bighorn sheep are common in the midst of pine, Joshua and junipers. ...

Trip to Death Valley

Death Valley is a round the year to-go park. Temperatures from Novembers through February the temperatures vary from 43°F to 70°F. From Mays through September the temperatures ranges between 100°F to 116°F.

Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport is the nearest airport to Death Valley. The park has two private airstrip facilities at Saline Springs and Furnace Creek. By train, Barstow is the closet city which falls on the Los Angeles - Chicago rail route.

This park is not served by any public transportation. Cars and vehicles are the preferred for the Trip to Death Valley. From Los Angeles to the Furnace Creek the road journey covers the pictorial route taking I-15 through Barstow, crossing the Mojave Desert. From Las Vegas take the route NV 160 west, passing the Old Spanish Trail, reaches Furnace Creek. One can also reach from Barstow by road.

Death Valley Tour

To soak in the valley's stunning sunsets and sunrises a couple of night stay is definitely recommended as part of the Death Valley Tour. Death Valley Museum, Golden Canyon Interpretive Trail, Furnace Creek Visitor Centre and Zabriskie Point are the must-see attractions. One can’t miss exploring the Scottys Castle, hiking at Wild rose Canyon, the silent Ubehebe Crater and the Telescope Peak which is the valley's highest point.
Death Valley Accommodation

There are four Death Valley Accommodation facilities in the National Park.

Furnace Creek Ranch is sited the centre of the park. Earlier a ranch it now provides quality motel and cabin accommodations.

Panamint Springs Resort is sited within the Park’s west entrance overlooking the striking Panamint Mountains and far-flung sand dunes. This resort offers hotel, camping and RV accommodations.

Furnace Creek Inn is a 66-room top-class accommodation option with modern amenities. Closed in summers, this four diamond resort boasts of an oasis garden, swimming pool and tennis courts.

Stovepipe Wells Village is a modest motel that offers comfort and convenience to its guests.

There are also numerous campgrounds inside the park.
