Modern-day Orthodontic Services With Aesthetics
Dentistry today has changed because of holistic approach. In earlier days, dentistry used mercury for filling tooth. It was only concerned with the tooth and not bothered with the overall body. Now day’s mercury safe dentistry has come as a great advantage. Since mercury was filled up in tooth, it proved to be very harmful for the body as a whole. The previous orthodontic services did not include the body or the ‘person’ but only concentrated on the tooth. However, the present amalgam free dentistry has become central to dental treatment. Therefore, the modern hospitals, clinics, medical institutions etc. use porcelain in treating dental problems.
The objective is to treat the oral portion integrated with the whole body. So presently biocompatible approach is used and this is not at all harmful for the body. The mercury portion is dangerous and toxic. Although it remains in the tooth for long, it dissolves in the oral cavity slowly. The mercury vapors emanating from the mercury fillings evaporate into mouth and body causing harm. The harm could ...
... be in some entirely different part of the body. This damage can be serious or even lethal for the patient.
That is why, in the present days, the modern medical centers and institutes depend on biocompatible substance or material. The use of bio-friendly content in oral cavity and tooth has proved to be very beneficial. These are not at all harmful for the body. They do not reduce over long time. They are further advantageous because they are biodegradable and harmless. Nobody wants any foreign body in the body. That is where biocompatible dentistry has come to aid. It is now practiced at all the leading and reputed medical centers all over the country.
The present day dentistry not only does not use mercury but aesthetic too. The fixtures now come in transparent material. This does not create any ugly look while smiling. There are techniques such as flossing, advanced denture processes etc., which are, developed keeping in mind beauty of the face. There are techniques, which add to the beauty of face. These include jaw shaping, teeth whitening among lots of others. If there is foreign object in the human body, the body has the tendency to reject it. It opposes the induction and tries to throw the foreign material away. In case of metal crowns and bridges, exclusively bio-friendly materials should be used. The modern materials used also provide great looks.
