Trends In The Service Types For Conference Venues Central London

The phrase “ad hoc” is slightly misleading here. Conference venues central London are generally of two basic types - the venue, which has been built specifically for the purpose of hosting conferences and the venue that has been adapted to that purpose from a previously designed intention.
The buildings in the centre of London are, in some cases, extremely old as well as uniquely well-maintained. As conference venues, they offer something that a purpose-built venue can’t – a unique atmosphere, which might be specifically useful depending on the theme or the purpose of an individual conference.
This is not for a moment to suggest that the more purpose-built conference venues central London has to offer are inferior. They are simply different. In basic terms, the difference is one of perception. The perceived personality of a purpose-built conference centre is that it is efficient, easy to use and well-built, all of which is true; while the perception of a historic building converted into a conference centre is that it might be able to add quirkiness or industry-specific selling points to a meeting. ...
...
For example, holding a conference at the Saatchi Gallery (which can be done) adds an extra degree of atmosphere to any meeting but it adds a degree of extra relevance to a conference run by a media company. When picking conference venues central London, there is a partial trend, then, for looking at the overall atmosphere and purpose of the venue as well as its simple location.
Location itself, of course, can become a trend in the provision of conference spaces. Purpose-built venues, for example, are often put in or near to major transport links. There is a conference venue inside Liverpool Street train station and there are a number of other conference venues around central London that have been purposely created near to major stations.
The reason for this is clear. If a venue is near to a station, then the person attending that venue, if he or she has come in on a train to that station, has virtually no distance at all to travel.
Obviously, there is a potential conceptual drawback in operation here. If people attending the conference have come in to a number of different mainline stations, then it is reasonable to suppose that while some will be well-served by the venue’s location. Here, of course, the end decision about which venue a conference will actually be held in rests with the organisers and if they know that they have delegates coming in to a number of central London transport hubs, it is up to them to find a venue that best serves all of them.
Again, central London has plenty of opportunities to offer them. This is one of the reasons, after all, why London is so widely used for conferencing even by companies that might not necessarily be based there. Where representatives are working all over the country, for example, finding a venue suitable for a number of mainline London stations can be ideal.
