The Development Of The Printing Business: How Advanced Technology Is Able To Help Ease Our Office W
With the fast pace improvement of technology, industries around the world must also keep up with the continuing development to become globally competitive. New machines were designed and produced to lighten up the work load in the manufacturing sector. New strategies were developed and used to entice more customers in the trading and service industries. These advancements are evident not only in the factories and markets but in the office setting as well.
Over the years, typewriters have been of great use to various offices. Back then, they were deemed to be the most practical machine used to organize thoughts, plans and written reports. Among the most common outputs are letters, memos, concept papers and reports of any sort. One of the features of the typewriter is that it can create duplicates of such copies by simply placing carbon paper in between the pages. However, with the emergence of computers along with the introduction of printers, this kind of practice mellowed down.
Computers with printers instantly became a necessity in the work place. Gone were the days when we have to spend enormous time ...
... just to type the data and make estimates on the format. Gone were the days when we have to often use correction fluids to erase what we have erroneously typed. With the use of computers and printers, we can instantly check and correct our work before making a final printout. Needless to say, offices will never be complete without these two equipments. In fact, try to look for an office without a computer or an office without a printer. Most likely you will never find one. That is because they have become an integral part of the business.
As industries become more complex, their respective needs also increase. The need to produce documents in large quantities is one. Another is the need to provide for softcopies. These are not catered by ordinary printers. Companies would then resort to purchasing separate machines that would address the pressing concern. Photocopiers and scanners were invented for this purpose. With all these machines in the office, we would think that it would be easier for us to go about with our business. However, would it not be too costly to maintain a number of equipments in the office? And would it not be practical if we only have one machine for all our office needs? One machine that we could use in the office for our reproduction, printing and scanning needs. Many thanks to advancements in technology for we now have a machine that is no longer limited to reproducing documents. It has evolved into something more efficient.
Copiers today can be used as printers as well as scanners. One can print, scan and copy documents using a single machine. It can be attached to the server and become a printer thereby allowing access to all computers connected in the network. This is economical rather than buying printers for each computer in the office. It can also be used as a file manager for scanned documents. Since it is attached to a server for network printing, part of the server's memory can be dedicated as file storage and later be used to manage these files. With this, companies can generate cost savings by purchasing one machine instead of three. Apart from the points mentioned above, this new equipment is also designed to save office space.
Now, isn't this a dream come true for all offices? A machine that is no longer limited to just duplication but can also be used as a printer and a scanner. It is indeed practical, economical as well as useful in all aspects. So, what else can we ask for?
