Heavy machinery is generally designed and used for executing various types of works such as engineering and construction developmental projects. Some of the types of heavy equipments are backhoe loader, road roller, drilling machine, dump truck, excavator, harvester etc. Learning the techniques of handling weighty machinery is important as these equipments could be hazardous at times. Machineries like cranes, bulldozers, and forklifts could be dangerous.

Bulldozers

A bulldozer is the heavy equipment, which is mostly seen or used in construction purposes. It is a crawler equipped with metal plates. Bulldozers are found on various sites - mines and quarries, military bases, heavy industry factories, engineering projects and farms. Bulldozers can be modified over time for other purposes also. An excavator is used for digging of trenches, holes, foundations, material handling, demolition and heavy lifting purposes. Excavators come in a variety of options. It is made up of cab, boom, and bucket.

A grader is a machine comes with a blade, which is used to form a flat surface. It is mostly employed in the construction and maintenance of dirt roads and gravel roads. A paver is used to lay asphalt on roadways by pressing the hot asphalt mixture. In order to cut-to-length logging operations, a harvester is used. Developed in Sweden, a forest harvester is used together with a forwarder that hauls the logs to a roadside landing. These are some types of heavy equipments that are widely operated all across the globe. Working with these heavy equipments is dangerous as well. One must take all precautions before and while driving or using these machines. Many accidents have been also reported due to irresponsible use of weighty machines in many places. It is advised to read all safety instructions that are printed on all heavy machinery before using them.
