Finding The Right Air Compressor To Power Your Miniature Pneumatic Components
The last century was all about trying to make things bigger. Bigger cars, bigger airplanes and bigger television screens, to name but a few. Today, however, many industries are moving in the opposite direction, and trying to make things smaller. Computers, household appliances and even hand tools are all moving towards the lower size limit. Today, there are a great many jobs for the do-it-yourself homeowner that require you to work with miniature pneumatic components, given just how small the parts of some household appliances are. Moreover, some people also engage in the hobby of robotics, and miniature robotic components are a favorite of those who view robotics as both the ultimate pastime and challenge.
If you are using miniature pneumatic tools or working on a project that involves miniature pneumatic components, you will need an air compressor to supply the power to your pneumatic tools. Without an air compressor, your tools would be absolutely unusable, as pneumatic equipment depends solely on compressed air as its source of power.
There is a wide range of different types of air compressor, and they vary ...
... in size and power, from small ones that run on electricity or gasoline, to large affairs that run on diesel fuel. What you need to decide is just how much power you require and what sort of air compressor will be sufficient to meet your needs. You would hardly want a unit that took up an entire room just to power a couple of hand tools, but at the same time you would not want a compressor that could not even power your equipment.
What Do You Need?
Before you purchase an air compressor you should make a complete inventory of all the pneumatic equipment that you have and use, and what their power requirements are. Your equipment will either state their power requirements on a sticker on the equipment itself or on the material that was included when you purchased it. This way, you will know exactly where your minimum threshold lies in order for your air compressor to power the most power-hungry of your tools.
You should also consider whether you will be using a few tools at the same time, as some air compressors offer the option of connecting multiple tools simultaneously. If you do that, however, you will need to allow for the increased load on the compressor, and you will have to get a compressor that has a higher power output than if you were to use it with only one tool at a time.
Portability
Another consideration that you will have to balance against power and the convenience of being able to use several tools simultaneously is portability. If you need to transport your air compressor and use it in a number of locations, then you will need to compromise on power because the more powerful a compressor, the heavier and bulkier it is. Generally, however, if you are dealing only with miniature robotic components and all you are using the compressor for is to power miniature pneumatic components, then portability will likely not be an issue for you.
Working with Miniature robotic components means having to manipulate small parts, a job for which Miniature pneumatic components are particularly suited, and the best place to purchase these pneumatic components is undoubtedly DAS Services Inc.
