The Familiar Country Kitchen Decor
I grew up watching my mother cook delicacies every day. It is due to my mother that I got the love of cooking. I used to watch her experimenting with various tastes, new spices and flavors. She always made food very innovative and till date, she does. Her food is quick and very delicious to eat.
I picked up my zeal for experimentation with food and flavors from my mother. Even now, whenever I am lost or at loggerheads with any of the cooking and food related issues, I give my mother a call and she fixes everything right up. She has a solution for every problem related to food and flavors.
It is due to the huge influence of my mother’s cooking and my mother’s kitchen that I decided to give my kitchen a touch of family. I wanted my own kitchen to look my mother’s so that I feel inspired and happy to experiment every single day. I started the ‘kitchen makeover’ by making a list and jotted down the names of all the things that needed to be bought like a dining table, a countertop, a nice closet to, a kitchen island.
I chose red brick styled walls for my kitchen to make sure that the feeling of ‘country’ ...
... remains intact. Matching the red walls was the subtle colored high pressure laminate countertops in the cooking area. I wanted the cooking area to be very functional and easy to clean. Thanks to the new high pressure laminate solutions, my hitch was done away with and I could get a nice and functional cooking space built.
I chose to make a nice kitchen island at one side of the kitchen. Kitchen islands look great and add a feeling of abundance and plenty. I placed all my spices, pickles, fruits and food stocks on the island. I had a nice table made of wood laminates to have a ‘dine-in’ facility in my kitchen. To top it, I arranged for some bar stools to create seating around the high table.
I chose nice blend of laminate colors for the countertops, for the table and for the island ensuring that the décor of the area hung together well. I got a whole window built in out an entire wall which added a lot of sunlight into the kitchen and gave me beautiful view of the outside world, too. I must say, with little patience and with little planning, I was able to create a great kitchen for myself which had that familiar flavor to it.
