This advanced life style forced for a busy schedule, which causes stress that means poor health condition. If we consider medical science there is no doubt we achieved a lot, but unfortunately there are a number of diseases which only can be maintained with long term medication process. For an instance cardiovascular disease, Parkinson, diabetes, blood pressure, etc, where we can only mask the symptoms by medication rather cure it. As per WHO’s statistics no. of these chronic patient is increasing day by day, which is very unfortunate. That means we need some other alternate to counter this problem and the good thing is, today we have the answer in the form of stem cell therapy.
Human body that consists of millions of cells with their specific functions starts its journey with just two single cells that is a sperm and an ovum. After a few days blast cyst forms in the womb which is a combination of embryonic stem cells. These stem cells are capable in ...
... generating all the different types of cells. Once human development is complete these cells mature and performs specific functions. That means there are different types of adult stem cells with different functions, for an instance mesenchymal stem cells is for bone, ligaments, cartilage, heart, etc. and at the same time hematopoietic stem cells is capable in generating erythrocytes, the oxygen transporter. So depending upon the requirement stem cell treatment can be done.
As per stem cell therapies, there are four different stages i.e.
• Bone marrow extraction
• Development of stem cells in the laboratory
• Stem cell implantation
• Post treatment care
Bone marrow extraction is a simple procedure under local anesthesia. With a very fine needle bone marrow is extracted from the hip bone and the entire procedure is not a matter of more than 30 minutes. It is done with proper care and majority of patient do not consider it as a painful experience. Once bone marrow extraction is completed, you can go back to your hotel as there is absolutely no need of hospitalization. That means you can enjoy your time the way you want.
Depending upon the case stem cells are developed in the laboratory which takes two days and you are ready for the implantation. The best part of stem cell treatments is, it can make you free from the risk of side effects as you are going to treat by your own body cells rather than any medication. The implantation of developed stem cells may be by intravenous administration or directly to the target area or may be via catheter, in other words depending upon the case the surgeon decides the process of implantation. However it generally takes not more than one hour and the patient will be under observation for one day and you are ready to back to your normal life.
