Holidaying With The Royals At Lakshman Sagar
The property at Lakshman Sagar was built as a hunting lodge by Lakshman Singh Ji in the late nineteenth century. Having proudly survived the ravages of time, it has now been rebuilt as a heritage property functioning under Sewara Hospitality and Development Ltd. Its present owner is Kunwar Manavjeet Singh Raipur, who has added his own touches of environment-friendly outlook to the property, making it a holistic getaway for its visitors. Spread out for over thirty acres, the property is a haven for a plethora of activities planned out for the guests. If you choose not to take part in any of the activities, you’re just as welcome to laze around, flip through the mind-boggling array of books and breathe the fresh air all around.
As soon as you arrive, you are taken to the resort on bullock carts, giving you a taste of the authentic rustic life of Rajasthan. The original Shikar Ghars have been renovated as villas. The property has five such luxury villas. The earthy, rustic décor and state-of-the –art comfort in the rooms make for a luxurious stay. The Mardana and Zenana areas, which were originally separate enclosures ...
... for the male and the female, have been re-envisioned as a lounge comprising of a library, music and comfortable seating areas for you to relax. The Lakshman Sagar is a property that gives its maximum hospitality to its guests. There are no fixed meal timings or menus. You can wander about the sprawling property and witness the live cooking counters, bonfires and traditional Rajasthani music. Guests may choose to dine anywhere, even on a boat amid the pond within the property. The added bonus of living here is the Fatehgarh fort in the distance, casting its royal shadow on the resort.
As for activities, you can go for a relaxing full body massage at the Wellness Center, or go rambling in the nearby fields as part of the Nature Walks. The area is a birdwatcher’s paradise, so don’t forget to carry your most powerful cameras, and a pair of binoculars. Take in a bit of the Shikar ambience with a jeep safari to Todgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, where you stand a chance to spot the leopard, sloth bears, wild boars and wolves. The grassy forest makes animal sighting easy, and you will also get a chance to appreciate the beauty of tropical deciduous forests. Alternatively, ride like the royals through the rugged terrains on the Horse Safari. A stay at this luxury resort gives you full scope to indulge all your hunting spirit, but, without harming the natural life of the place. Thus, one of the activities is the clay bird shooting with muzzles. You can also visit the nearby Bagri Fort. The resort packs picnic lunches on this quaint drive to the ancient fort. The three hundred year old fort is a beautiful, charming place which also gives you a taste of Rajput history.
Lakshman Sagar is thus the perfect getaway which encapsulates the true spirit of Rajasthan.
