Cheap travel options, including cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms, and cheap vacation packages make visiting Hawaii possible. Once there visitors should make a point to see many of Hawaii’s amazing natural wonders.

The Aloha State offers numerous majestic views, from volcanoes and verdant cliffs to surfing beaches and magnificent hibiscuses. Tourists should not limit their destinations just to hotels, beautiful beaches, and the impressive ocean water.

The following are natural wonders are strongly recommended by Christine Thomas, a long time native of the island:

• Oahu/Waimea Bay is one of the most storied big wave surfing spots on Oahu’s North Shore from November through February. Tourists enjoy watching pros ride waves over 20 feet high and many drive or hike back to Waimea Valley to a 45 foot waterfall and enjoy strolling through botanical gardens.

• Oahu/Nu’uanu Pali Lookout is where visitors take in breathtaking walls of wind and enjoy panoramas of the sculpted Ko’olau Mountains and nearby small towns.

• Lanai/Pu’u Pehe (called “Sweetheart Rock” by many) ...
... is where visitors go to think about love. Legend has it that a heartbroken man climbed this 80 foot outcrop and then jumped into the surf. Today many visitors snorkel and dive at this site.

• Molokai/Kalaupapa is a steep forest trail down a 1,700 foot cliff to the flat, windy peninsula of Kalaupapa, a magnificent national historic park.

• Hawaii Island/Kilauea Volcano is a national park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and International Biosphere Reserve. It is home to the steaming, flowing Kilauea Volcano. Surface flowing lava can be viewed by taking a demanding hike over uneven, sharp ground.

• Hawaii Island/Pu’uhonua Honaunau is South Kona’s national historical park where visitors can walk around thousands of ancient cultural sites.

• Maui/Wai’anapanapa is a secluded state park consisting of 122 acres of wilderness home to a rare black sand beach, natural stone arch, hala tree forest, a legendary cave, and stone temple.

• Kauai/Koke’e is a forest wonderland located in the cool uplands of Koke’e State Park. Mist collects among the native koa and ohia trees and provides a mysterious glow to this unspoiled land.

• Maui/Haleakala National Park is where a glorious sunrise can be enjoyed as well as native silversword plants and great views of the Milky Way at night.
