Primary education has always been the key for a young pupil to set foot, out in the world. This is possible with good infrastructure, teachers, teaching materials and the most important – the involvement of parents in the life of a young pupil, this is most important as parents are the only people in this world who have complete control over their children. There is a possibility that a young pupil would drift away and not be able to deliver. This would cause problems in terms of a child’s performance and progress.


The role of parents at this level would have an influence on intellectual and social development of a child. When a child goes to school, parents have to make sure that they understand what a child is really learning at this stage. They have to understand their child’s progress at regular intervals from their child and teachers as well. This stage of life is very crucial as they are in a budding stage and need lot of guidance and support. There is another concept of home schooling where parents would not send their children to primary school and teach them on their own or hire personal tutors, depending on what parents want for their children. However, this would again not be a wise choice as a child would get confined to a homely atmosphere and would not be able to interact or socialize at this age. The concept of home schooling still continues in various parts of the world but a significant change has been observed from the last decade with parents actively taking part in making their child a responsible citizen. Modern parents get geared up and start taking important decisions on where and how their child should be placed for primary education. They survey schools in their locality for their authenticity, quality, infrastructure, and other minute nuances, questioning teachers and school staff on important topics.


Parents are support structures as they provide encouragement and support to their children as they help them make improvements. Parents have to understand one thing, their child is not good at everything, and they are born with individual talents. Pupils at the primary level of education have to be cared for and handled very carefully, this is where parents play an important role by broadening their life experience and transcend them into another realm to achieve their goals in life by injecting positive belief.
