As social media becomes more and more commonplace, some people feel that business cards might be in danger of becoming obsolete, replaced by social networking tools. The fact remains, however, that whenever you go to a meeting or trade show, you will still return with a stack of business cards from the various people you met. Digital media is simply no substitute for a physical business card, but only if your card is well thought-out and properly designed. Print media such as business card and brochure printing are here to stay, but they are only effective when used properly.

First Impressions

Business cards are, in many ways, a method of making a first impression. Of course, the very first impression that you will make on someone you meet for the first time is through your appearance and how you carry yourself. When you introduce your business, however, the first impression your business makes is made through your business card. A well-designed business card can make a great first impression, and lead to added business generated for you, or provide you with personal connections that you will find useful later ...
... on.

One good way to measure just how good a first impression your business card leaves is to consider what a person will do with it after you leave. Very often, if a person receives a business card that they have no interest in, that card will soon find its way into the trash. So the question then, is how to stop your card from ending up in the trash.

Simplicity

One of the most common mistakes that people make with their cards is including too much information. There is, of course, the temptation to include every possible way of contacting you since conveying that information is what these cards are for after all. If your card is extremely cluttered, however, there is immediately a disincentive for a person to actually read it, simply because it would seem troublesome to do so.

Instead, you should only include the contact information that would allow a person to get the fullest picture of your business. If your business revolves mainly around a store, then the store address will suffice. If your business has a strong online presence, then include only the website address.

Design

There is an age-old saying that you should not judge a book by its cover. That is exactly what most people do, however, so it certainly pays to have a well-designed business card. If you do not have the specialized skills necessary to design an attractive card, then you should hire someone to do it for you. This is an expense that will pay for itself many times over.

Grab Attention

Whether it is through the design of your card or by means of a tagline, your aim should always be to grab attention. An eye-catching design or a curiosity-inspiring tagline are excellent ways to ensure that your business card stays in someone’s wallet instead of being thrown in the trash.

Quality

Finally, you would hardly want business cards that disintegrate once they are placed in someone’s pocket. Quality is something that is evident, even with things as simple as business cards or brochures printing. The type of paper and ink used and the attention to detail are obvious. People know a quality business card when they feel one, so make sure your cards are of high quality.

business cards and brochures printing are great methods of advertising for your business, and to achieve the maximum effect you need to ensure that they are of high quality, which is exactly what Influence Graphics offers with its printing services.
