A well developed and populated metropolitan city, Delhi is situated on the banks of River Yamuna in the Northern part of India and is the capital city of the country. There are many daily direct flights from Delhi to Pune which take around 2 hours to reach. The air fares depend a lot on the class of travel and the requirements of the airliners and they also have full right to change the fares anytime. Travelling by train is another option especially for elderly people and families with children and also for budget reasons. The time taken for train journey will be 20 to 25 hours on an average.

The distance from Delhi to Pune is 1466 kilometres and this could be covered in 20 hours approximately. Private cars if needed can be rented, however it may prove expensive. One can go by own vehicle if keen on driving for long distances. The best route from Delhi would be via Jaipur-Kishangarh-Chittorgarh-Udaipur-Himmatnagar-Ahmedabad -Vadodara-Surat-Vapi-Thane-New Bombay-Kalamboli to reach Pune. The roads are outstanding and one can reach Pune the same day or can plan for a night stay at any of the major towns in between. There are good facilities throughout the way like petrol pumps, hotels, dhaabas, puncture shops, etc. Regent Continental Delhi and Klastar Inn Pune are available to taste Maharashraian food.
