The city of Brussels happens to be the capital of Belgium and is also the de facto capital of the European Union. It is home to many EU institutions and thus is considered the informal capital of Europe as well. It is a small city, but it does boast of some significant architecture and historical buildings. The city is famous for its cuisine and beer, so make sure that you get to enjoy all this.
