Identifying Which Edition Your Ccg Belongs To
Collectible Card Games or CCG's is a card game category played with a specially designed set of cards. However, how do you determine which edition a CCG belongs to? Many sets have a unique expansion symbol on the right side, and each of these symbols have a meaning attached (either editions or releases). Here is a brief description on each of these editions.
It's difficult to decode the origin of early base/ core sets since they don't have expansion symbols on them. The base/core set comprise of - Alpha and Beta. Alpha sets have more rounded corners with black borders. There is no expansion symbol or copyright date. Now for Beta sets they are similar to alpha but differ in a few ways. Beta sets have regular rounded corners with a black border. Like Alpha there is no expansion symbol or copyright date. Get your deck from the best online magic store.
Moving on it gets a little hard to make out the differences between Unlimited and Revised/3rd Edition sets. Nonetheless, they do have notable yet unique differences. Once you understand the detailing work it's easy to differentiate them. The features worth noticing are ...
... the white borders, expansion symbols, copyright date, placement of the title text (text is left justifies then it is Revised/3rd Edition), inside border and the color of the ink (darker indicating Revised/3rd Edition). Magic- the Gathering was the first CCG that set a trend for other CCG's. For great discounts find online site that is selling bulk magic cards.
The unique features in a Revised/3rd edition are that the cards have a white border with no expansion symbol and copyright date. The title text is more right justified as compared to Unlimited. The 4th edition has a 1995 copyright while the 5th edition has a 1997 copyright. Both these versions have white borders with no expansion symbols. If you notice carefully all the latest decks have a copyright date. The 6th version decks were introduced in 1993 and lasted till 1999. And so the list goes on.
The Magic 2010 /M 10 version was introduced in 1993 and was last manufactured in the year 2009. They have foil versions with black symbols. The expansion mark on the deck is the name in short for that particular set. Finally, expansion sets can be easily identified as they have black borders. If you're a collector or a CCG enthusiast these points will help you get an authentic deck and in differentiating a classic deck from a normal one.
