No honest Christian can ignore The Theory Of Evolution. This theory is so pervasive that it threatens to pervert our whole way of thinking. In fact most of the readers will be shocked to realize that in the past two decades they have accepted many of the subtle pressures brought on them by evolutionary philosophies.

There are ultimately only two views of origins : creation and evolution. A person's view about origins affects all his thoughts and actions. A believer in creation will accept God's dominion over all Universe. He will look for absolute laws that govern the conduct of all human beings. On the other hand a believer in evolution will never accept any Authority over the Universe. He will never be able to see the presence of unchanging principles of conduct. Compared to a believer in creation, he will find it difficult to accept the Bible.

Parents should, therefore, be careful to instill creation as a background in their children's minds. There is no shortcut for it, and it is not a one-shot affair. Rather, they will have to be vigilant for many years if the framework of creation is to permeate and saturate ...
... their children's minds. This firm belief will then protect the children from many possible pitfalls in their later life. To prepare parents for this, a helpful summary on evolution is provided in the following paragraphs :

EVOLUTION: From time immemorial, man has tried to understand nature. The origin of the Universe has been an important question to him. Evolution has been proposed as a solution right from the beginning of mankind, and therefore it is not a new philosophy. However, no one had any idea about how this evolution has taken place.

In the last century there was much talk about evolution and its possible mechanism. The air was full of anticipation and at the right time arose Charles Darwin who proposed a mechanism for it. He became a hero overnight, and since then his name has
become synonymous with the theory of evolution. But, in the decades that followed, almost all proposals put forward by Darwin were refuted by science. (The failure of Darwinism has not changed peoples' belief in evolution). It will be quite helpful to know why the celebrated Darwinism failed !

SCIENCE: Every branch of science aims to discover truth, but none of them can yet claim to be a unified body of truth. Rather, every branch is made up of different categories of truth. Some of these categories represent highly reliable information while others represent doubtful or questionable information. For the sake of simplicity we can classify all categories of scientific information into two broad categories : FACTS of science, and THEORIES of science. "Facts of science" includes all those categories of information that are highly reliable and beyond doubt. "Theories of science" includes all that information which is yet to find scientific confirmation.

Facts of science remain unchanged with time while the theories of science change with the accumulation of knowledge. Some theories are even thrown out completely from the realm of science. This means that a THEORY, as mentioned above, does not have a permanent existence in science. It is here today, but it might be thrown out tomorrow. It does not represent undisputed or confirmed information.

The information given above is sufficient to show what the concept of evolution is : it is a theory. The name, THEORY Of Evolution, itself shows this. For thousands of years it has been a speculation, and then Darwin gave a theory to show how it might have happened. But as it was a mere theory, it did not represent confirmed or proved information. It could not be elevated to the status of a law without further proofs. Scientists of Darwin's time were confident that within a generation all the proofs will become available but just the opposite has happened. A century after Darwin the theory proposed by him, and then modified by many others, stands discredited by scientific discoveries.

WHY NOT EVOLUTION

I--The most general theory of evolution requires that right from the inception of the Universe, everything that has happened should be explained in terms of natural laws. Numerous discoveries in fundamental sciences have shown that this is impossible. The Second Law of Thermodynamics has shown definitively that when
nature is left to itself, order always goes into disorder and not vice versa. Evolution demands a natural change from disorder into order, but this is contrary to the very foundations of physics and chemistry. No informed person will dare to suggest that we should set aside these LAWS of physics in favor of a mere theory !

II--The mathematical Theory Of Probability has shown that there is no possibility for natural evolution. Probability is a branch of mathematics that has been worked out in great detail for predicting the outcome of physical events. On applying it to study events connected with life, it completely negates the possibility of evolution.

III--Biological life needs a huge amount of information to sustain it. This voluminous information resides on genes. There is no way in which the Theory of Evolution can explain the origin of this information. In fact, Information Theory, which has been developed to great depth in the recent decades, has shown that information does not arise by itself. Rather, whenever nature is left to itself, information is only destroyed, making evolution impossible.

IV--Biologists often give students the impression that one organ can develop into another by accumulation of small changes, or that one animal can change into another by the same process. This has been shown to be false. To be fit for function every organ or organism must be fully formed from the beginning, or else it does not survive. A half-formed eye, or lungs, or any other organ is useless for the survival of an organism. Rather, it is a defect that will render it unfit for survival. Therefore it is a false idea that small changes can accumulate to change one kind of animal into another.

Animal breeders have produced large variations in animals through breeding. They have demonstrated, for example, that starting from just a single pair of dogs they can produce numerous types of dogs all different from each other. But in this process, they have shown a very interesting fact : organisms can show great variation within their own kind, but one kind can never change into another ! Breeding a pair of dogs can produce countless types of dogs, but not cats. Breeding a pair of horses can produce hundreds of types of horses, but not cows ! One kind cannot change into another, contrary to the demands of evolution !

V--Students are often told that fossils have provided the greatest proof in favor of evolution. On the contrary, fossils have not proved the theory of evolution. One century, and more, of searches have not produced even a single undisputed fossil in favor of evolution. The series of fossils on horse-evolution have been disputed by many evolutionists. All the fossils advanced to prove the evolution of man have fallen from favor. In fact, every fossil that was originally considered a missing link
has turned out to be something else. Today scientists have got billions of fossils for their researches, but not even one of them has proved to be a link in evolution. Fossils have ultimately given their verdict against evolution.

CONCLUSION

Evolution is only a theory. It is not a fact of science. But it is so pervasive today that Christian parents have cause for alarm. It has been refuted by discoveries of science, but people have not abandoned evolution. They continue to accept it by faith because it gives them the needed insulation from God and His instructions. Parents should therefore be careful to instruct their children in these matters so that their children are not estranged from their spiritual destiny.

Evolution is only a hypothesis. All the proofs have turned sour. It has not been established to be a fact of science. Yet people continue to be loyal to this assumption out of philosophical reasons. These facts must be made known to as many people as possible.
